Helping both owner and pointing dog reach their full potential as a hunting team.

IMG_0018IMG_0997Thank you for visiting the website for the Valley of the Sun chapter of the North  American Versatile Hunting Dog Association (NAVHDA). Our membership consists of pointing dog enthusiasts in Phoenix, Arizona and the surrounding areas. NAVHDA is a nonprofit organization whose purpose is to foster, promote and improve the versatile hunting dog breeds in North America; to conserve game by using well trained reliable hunting dogs before and after the shot; and to aid in the prevention of cruelty to animals by discouraging nonselective and uncontrolled breeding, which produces unwanted and uncared for dogs.

The chapter was formed to assist in the training of both handler and dog so together they may reach their full potential as a hunting team. The chapter has many experienced NAVHDA members to aide in the teaching of proper training techniques. We also bring in expert trainers from outside our region to hold specialized training to help you and your dog meet all your training goals. Another aspect of the chapter is to support the community as a conservation partner and help advance the local youth hunting program.
